As part of the New Mills Festival, Transition New Mills are hosting a screening of the award-winning documentary film 'Demain' ('Tomorrow'). And it's free (donations invited).
'Demain' is an uplifting account of the things ordinary people are doing around the world to make our planet a little (or a lot) better, and fitter for our children and grandchildren to inhabit. It starts with some familiar accounts of what's going wrong but moves pretty quickly into examples of local initiatives from ten countries (including the UK, with Todmorden's 'Incredible Edible' scheme featured) which are making a difference and which are capable of wider use. It's an inspiring account of positive action, which encourages audiences to go out and 'do something'.
There'll be an invitation to jot down what you think of what you've seen which could have local application, or could inspire something related.
