John Cleveland College Community Woodheat Co-op Study Tour

Date:
Sat, 07/07/2018

10am-12pm
Hinckley Academy and John Cleveland Sixth Form Centre, Leicester
Free: pre-booking essential

An opportunity to visit a community-owned wood heat project. The biomass boilers and solar panels at Hinckley Academy are owned by over 200 people, more than half of them local. The project sources its wood from the National Forest which is just 12 miles away. A community benefit fund has provided LED lighting to nearby primary schools. Come and meet some of the people who have made this project happen and find out more about their journey.

This tour is specifically aimed at those who are thinking of starting their own community-owned renewable project (whatever source of power you’re thinking of using) and would like to get inspiration and advice from those who have already done it. We have a small fund available to assist with travel costs to the event if travel costs would otherwise be a barrier to you attending. Please email Caroline Harmon for more information.
