Give and Take Resource

A new toolkit designed to help you run your own Give and Take day has been published by Derbyshire County Council. Running a Give and Take Day will allow you to give away good quality things they don't want or need anymore and pick up something they do − all for free. Ideal for individuals and community and voluntary groups. Holding a Give and Take day is a great way to meet new people, save money and prevent perfectly good items getting thrown away.

Love Your Leftovers Cook Book

Contributors include TV chef Sat Bains, award-winning butcher Johnny Putazi from JT Beedhams in Sherwood, Rhubarb Farm social enterprise from Langwith and Love Food Hate Waste chef Richard Fox.
Printed copies will be available to pick up at all 2103 tour locations (see events section of this newsletter) as well as from council Customer Service Points.

Are rising energy bills becoming a strain on your organisation?

Social Enterprise Energy (SEE) helps social enterprises and third sector organisations to reduce their energy costs, ensuring that every penny is kept where it is most needed. SEE provides independent expert support for organisations based in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire or Leicestershire, including:

·        Energy tariff switching - make instant savings on utility bills by switching to a cheaper energy tariff, at no extra cost.
·        Site specific work to identify, evaluate and help find funding for, carbon and cost saving improvements (via energy audits).
·        A range of expert renewable energy system support services, including feasibility studies, funding, planning and procurement assistance.
·        Help to develop environmental reporting for tenders and funding bids (particularly public sector contracts).
·        Training and support for staff, service users and local communities to save money and energy in the workplace and at home.

This initiative is delivered by NEP Energy Services (NEPes) who have extensive experience in supporting organisations to find quick cost and carbon savings, then communicating the benefits and knowledge to staff, service users and the local community.

To book your free initial consultation, contact Gemma Cave, SEE Project Coordinator at NEPes. As a charity NEPes recycle 100% of profits back into local community carbon and fuel poverty projects.
