- An intense heatwave is sweeping through northern India with temperatures hitting a record 49.2C (120.5F) in parts of the capital, Delhi. This is the fifth heatwave in the capital since March.
- UK airlines have missed all climate targets set since 2000 except for one, a new report claims. The aviation industry sets its own goals for cutting its environmental footprint. In 2018 air travel was responsible for 7% of the UK's greenhouse gas emissions.

- Bolsover District Council’s First Future Homes project will create 19 entirely electric houses at the Woodlands in Whaley Thorns. It will be designed to achieve 80% less carbon emissions than current building regulations allow.
- Nottingham City Council is offering up to £3,191 to help Hackney Taxi Drivers switch to Ultra Low Emission Vehicles (ULEVs). Project is financed using Defra’s Clean Air grant. Drivers are able to trial new electric vehicles before buying. Application deadline is 31st March 2022.
- North East Derbyshire District Council are piloting environmentally friendly parking solutions in the district — permeable tarmac and ‘grass matting’ (a protection matting)
