Powering Our Communities Fund Open for Applications in High Peak and Derbyshire Dales

Electricity North West is offering grants of up to £15,000 for projects which aim to put community and local energy at the heart of communities. They are particularly looking for projects that demonstrate they can deliver one of three priorities:

  • engaging communities in energy issues, particularly energy efficiency;
  • supporting vulnerable customers and or reducing fuel poverty in our communities;
  • investigating or delivering new ways of working to support a smart, flexible low carbon grid.

The funding can be used to support a wide range of activities including producing materials to promote initiatives, supporting staff time or technical expertise, buying equipment or researching a new approach or business model.

The majority of a project’s activity needs to be located within Electricity North West’s (ENW) operating area. NB: most of the geographical area covered by this website is NOT within ENW’s operating area. The local authority areas that are, are High Peak and parts of Derbyshire Dales. If you are unsure if you are covered please contact ENW before submitting an application. Most of the geographical area covered by this website is within the operating area of Western Power Distribution.
