  • A new legal right for repairs to come into law this summer. Manufacturers will be legally obliged to make spare parts for products available to consumers for the first time, extending the lifespan of products by up to 10 years.  


  • 'LitterCam' - AI software can now match footage of motorists throwing rubbish to their car's number plate and issue an automatic fine. The first trial is set to begin in Maidstone in Kent in a few weeks.


  • A new study presents EDGAR-FOOD – the first database of emissions from every stage of the food chain between 1990-2015, broken down by sector, greenhouse gas and country. The study finds the food system contributed one third of human-produced greenhouse gas emissions in 2015.
