Our clothes are made of millions of tiny fibres in fabrics including polyester, nylon, acrylic and polyamide. With every wash and wear, these microfibres, many of which are plastic, shed from our clothes and can end up in our oceans.

Tara Proud, Volunteer & Community Engagement Manager, at Marine Conservation Society (MCS), will talk more about their #StopOceanThreads campaign, which is working to push for filters to be fitted in our washing machines to combat this issue.

Find out all about the behind-the-scenes work MCS has been doing with manufacturers, trade organisations, and MPs to make these filters a reality.
