HVCA has re-arranged a meeting with Robert Largan, MP for High Peak, who was unable to join them at their 'general' meeting earlier in the month as planned. This will take place this Friday, 26th June, at 7.30pm on Zoom.

He will be talk briefly about his views on climate change and there will be a chance to ask him questions afterwards.  If you would like to ask a question, please email Jeremy Wight () in advance*.  HVCA will prioritise questions submitted in advance, but there may be time for impromptu questions too.

If you would like Mr Largan to know of your question in advance (so that he has time to prepare a more considered reply), please let HVCA know when submitting your question.

*If you submitted questions previously, you do not need to do it again. They will be assuming you still want to ask them unless you let them know otherwise.

Air source heat pumps are increasingly being seen as a key technology for homes in the energy transition. But large scale rollout of heat pumps in an owner occupier context in the UK is relatively rare. 

In this webinar designed for policy makers, practitioners, designers and installers, Paul Kenny of Tipperary Energy Agency and Superhomes discusses the lessons learnt from their Irish roll out programme. The webinar will include an assessment of performance data which forms part of the Superhomes 2.0 evaluation conducted with Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT).

Paul will also be discussing Tipperary Energy Agency’s new distance learning module on heat pumps that he has authored.

This will be:

• A follow up on our meeting last month
• An informal opportunity to ‘meet’ with people from other climate change-focused community groups in the Nottingham/Nottinghamshire/Derby/Derbyshire area.
• A chance to hear about what other community groups are doing
• An opportunity to talk about what support you might want from the Community Climate Action Network in the next few months (while life is very different to normal) and in the future. This could be more Zoom meetings, more content on our website or something else.

We are running regular monthly Zoom meetings to give community groups a chance to informally meet and share ideas. Our next Zoom meeting will be on Wednesday 17th June from 7pm till 8pm. As usual, this will also be an opportunity to let us know what support you would like from us.
