How can we design and plan urban infrastructure to be more sustainable?

Urban environments are major contributors to climate change. According to the UN around 55% of the world’s population lives in urban areas, a proportion that is expected to increase, rising to 68% by 2050. It is vital that transforming our cities plays a major factor in our climate change mitigation plans.

This session of the Earth Convention series will explore examples of cities across the world that are taking the lead on green initiatives, including how citizens are working in partnership with city governments, civil society, and businesses.

Speakers include:

  • Chris Boardman
Olympic gold medallist, entrepreneur, and active travel advocate.

  • Isabel Dedring
    Global Transport Leader at Arup.

  • Kate Elliot
Deputy head of ethical, sustainable, and impact research for Rathbone Greenbank Investments.
