  • An ‘Ask Me A Climate Question’ Service.

The Ask Me a Climate Question Service is for community groups which are big on ideas, but short on time to research those ideas.

This service allows community groups based in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire to ask Marches Energy Agency - a regional charity - to carry out a couple of hours of research on your behalf for free.

Groups can send us an enquiry about a project they want to set up or a topic they want to learn more about. We will do the research and signpost them to resources, websites and courses as well as other community groups they might want to work with or learn from. No question is too easy or too hard and we aim to respond within 15 working days (but usually sooner).

Email questions and enquiries to Rebecca at ccan@mea.org.uk

Past Services

  • Carbon Literacy

We have previously run, or been involved in, a number of Carbon Literacy Courses to support individuals and community climate action groups in the area. Most recently, we funded a Virtual Carbon Literacy course for parish councillers in South Derbyshire in January 2022 & ran a similar course for Transition Buxton and other community climate groups in the High Peak Area in June 2020. If funding allows, we may run these sessions again in the future. Look out for details in our newsletters, social media and/or events section on this website.

  • Eco Home Open Week

We ran three annual Eco Open Home events between 2013 and 2015. During that time more than 600 people visited homes or other buildings in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire to see eeo features in situ. They were able to chat with householders about what it's like to live in these homes and their install experiences (positive and negative!).
