Case Study - 121 Home Energy Check Volunteer Training

 

In Autumn 2011 MEA delivered training to 11 members of Transtion Oundle in Northamptonshire (pictured right). The course was funded by a grant from Climate East Midlands’ Community Skills for Climate Change programme.

 

In the four months after the training finished the volunteers visited more than 40 homes in their area. In a report about the project the group wrote:

 

’As the volunteers have conducted their assessments (of houses) their own knowledge has grown substantially and they are now even more enthusiastic; it has been an exciting journey. The people whose homes have been assessed have found the experience very worthwhile, and have become enthusiastic supporters of the project.’
