This year’s festival includes displays from a range of community groups, craft stalls (wool spinning, woodworking, pole lathe, pedal power, a dog show and pedal powered entertainment. If you live in Newark and Sherwood and want funding for your community project then this is the most important FREE event to go to this year. Representatives from all the major local funders with be there including, WREN, Newark & Sherwood District Council, Nottinghamshire County Council, Heritage Lottery Fund, The Big Lottery, Children in Need and many more!
 
You can talk to as many funders as you like to discuss your project and find out if they are able to support it. Whether your project is at the ideas stage or have already drafted an application why not come along and spend time talking it over with funders? In addition to funders, there will be organisations that provide information and advice about a range of topics including finance and volunteering.

Jo Butler is an experienced fundraiser and one of the founder members of Newark Children Charities a groups of four local charities who work together to fundraise.

Jo will provide some examples of how the charities she works with get money from individuals and cover things like online giving; gift aid; working with local businesses; as well as events and community fundraising. She will also talk about the costs of fundraising and which methods are the best value for money.
