Warmer Derby & Derbyshire is Successful in Energy Redress Funding Bid


 
Marches Energy Agency is delighted to announce that they have secured funding from the Energy Redress Scheme for their Warmer Derby and Derbyshire project, partnering with Citizens Advice Mid Mercia, for two more years!  

Warmer Derby & Derbyshire is a free & impartial energy support service for residents of Derby & Derbyshire. Friendly staff can provide advice with bills, practical help to make your home easier to keep warm, crisis support, and help with grant funding. The impartial energy advice is available on 0800 677 1332 or via wdd@mea.org.uk.  

The Warmer Derby & Derbyshire service is a partnership between the Marches Energy Agency charity and the Local Authority Energy Partnership (LAEP).

Wirksworth Transition Community Land Trust

Wirksworth Transition Community Land Trust was created as a charity in 2018 to greatly improve the energy efficiency of housing in Wirksworth and Middleton. Homes are one of our biggest sources of carbon emissions in the UK - accounting for nearly a quarter (22%) of all our emissions.

For various reasons, including the pandemic, they have been unable to start even a small project to build or retrofit any houses. They are now looking for existing local property to retrofit and make available to residents in need at an affordable rent. They are also planning some Zoom webinars to bring in knowledgeable people to share insight.

Job Opportunities: The Green Meadows Project

The Green Meadows Project is a new community climate action initiative based in the Meadows area of Nottingham. Funded by the National Lottery Climate Action Fund, the project will work with the Meadows Community to develop new solutions, to demonstrate how an inner-city area can take on the challenge of climate change.
