Repair Café Needs More Volunteers

20
Transition Chesterfield’s monthly Repair Café is growing in popularity and urgently needs more repairers. Repair Cafes involve members of the public bringing their broken items, everything from clothing and bicycles to electrical items and toys, and volunteers help repair them. Chesterfield’s Repair Café is one of 1400 cafes worldwide. If you enjoy fixing things and can spare a few hours a month then you would be very welcome. Transition Buxton Offering Free Home Energy Appraisals

A group of trained volunteers from Transition Buxton are offering free home energy appraisals to local householders. Reducing the energy we use at home is a big part of improving our carbon footprint and increasing our resilience. If we improved the thermal efficiency of our homes we’d be warmer and happier, and we’d save money. Knowing where to start is hard; what to prioritise and how much it will cost.

The volunteers involved have been trained by Marches Energy Agency (MEA) and can offer impartial advice. This is a great chance to get your home ready for winter whilst the sun is still shining. Request a visit.
