Dr Sally Cairns, Institute for Transport Studies at the University of Leeds, and Rebecca Nestor, LCON trustee, will explore the link between air travel and climate change. They will also discuss the environmental realities of flying alongside its psychological appeal and emotional power.

A climate café is a simple, hospitable, empathetic space where fears and uncertainties about our climate crisis can be safely expressed.

This café will be facilitated by Gillian Broad and Rebecca Nestor.  There will be no guest speakers or talks, and it will remain an advice-free zone. The focus will be thoughts and feelings about the climate crisis. Although they realise that COVID - 19 needs a space to be explored too and this can happen here too.

Climate Psychology Alliance (CPA) is not-for-profit membership organisation that was set up to facilitate a deeper understanding of our human responses to climate change. CPA draws on a broad range of disciplines, such as psychology, philosophy, ecology and systems thinking, to help people deal with difficult truths about climate and ecological crisis. Visioning exercise and seed-funding launch

Transition Network has developed a programme of support, “Transition: Bounce Forward”, for transition towns that will be delivered over the coming months. In September, a series of online 'What Is?' events took place. These explored how Transition groups can respond to the combination of COVID-19, socio - economic issues and the ongoing climate crisis.

Here, you will be introduced to the 'What If' visioning exercise - a tool to help Transitioners develop a way forward for the future of their communities. There will be the opportunity to ask any questions about their seed-funding grant programme for Transition groups in England.

In September, the Climate and Ecological Emergency Bill (CEE Bill) was launched to demand that the UK Government bring the urgent action needed to mitigate the climate and ecological crisis into law. CEE Bill has now been officially published on the Parliament website. So far, 76 MPs have signed up to back the bill. 

With just a year until COP26, join the CEE Bill Alliance and special guests for this virtual event about how the CEE Bill is the emergency strategy needed to avert climate and ecological catastrophe. It will explore what we need to do to influence governments ahead of COP26 and what role citizens play in this. More information here.
