Study Tour: Creative Energy Homes Project

The Creative Energy Homes Project is a showcase of  four innovative state-of-the-art energy-efficient homes. The project aims to stimulate sustainable design ideas and promote new ways of providing affordable, environmentally sustainable housing that are innovative in their design.

One home is a replica 1930’s house (pictured), subsequently updated to show how retrofit measures can improve a home’s energy efficiency. Another reflects an aim to build an energy efficient masonry home that can be mass produced and is affordable.

Workshop: Domestic Energy Efficiency

This workshop is free to attend for anyone living in Derbyshire or Nottinghamshire.
 
This practical and interactive workshop will focus on the many options for making our homes more energy efficient and the best places to start. We will look at both physical measures and behavioural change. We will look at real examples of what others have done. We will also take a brief look at how to encourage others in your community to become more energy efficient.

Online Energy Monitoring Training Session

Marches Energy Agency (MEA) are offering a free training sessions on energy efficiency and carbon management for third sector organisations based in Nottinghamshire.
 
The training, which will run over two sessions, will explain how to use MEA’s innovative interactive webtool WeSave (www.wesave.org.uk) to monitor and reduce energy consumption in your organisation. They will also explore how to engage staff in this process and how to produce an energy report for a building.
 
The training sessions are part of a larger support package for Third Sector Organisations which is being funded by the Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnership.

3rd Sector Carbon Mangement Training - Session two of two

CO2 Partnership Engagement (COPE) is a project which can help voluntary and not-for-profit organisations save money by reducing their energy consumption. It makes use of Marches Energy Agency's innovative online carbon footprinting tool We Save.

 

 
This FREE training, run over two sessions (30th Sept and 25th Nov), will include:
 
  • Energy efficiency, leading to detailed understanding of energy consumption 
  • Organisational and staff engagement
  • Carbon foot-printing of your organisation using a specially developed online Web-based tool, followed by carbon reduction action planning
  • Best practice and knowledge sharing, and mutual support
You will learn how to produce a report on your building(s), including energy and cost savings from renovations (helping to attract funding).
 
The project will provide email and telephone support and free energy monitors.
