Getting Started
A thousand mile journey start with the first step.....there are a number of schemes you can register with such as Eco Schools or you can consider the Sustainable Schools Framework. As a basic guide you should consider doing all of the items on the list below:
- establish a school climate change team with members representing teachers, pupils, govenors and parents
- weave climate change into the curriculum at all levels
- calculate the school's carbon footprint and set targets to reduce it
- have a set of climate change assemblies and arrange for the pupils to deliver content themselves
- take action within the school both in terms of physical changes and awareness raising.
