Solar Schools Project

Last year, the carbon cutting organisation 10:10 dreamed up a way for schools to install solar panels by raising money from their communities. Seven months on five solar installations have taken place and over £75,000 has been raised. Now 10:10 is rolling the project out nationwide - but there’s only space for 100 schools!

New Research Highlights ‘Green Saturation’

A new survey looking at the current state of green consumer behaviour in the UK has found that while certain ‘green’ behaviours are now mainstream, sustainable living as a whole remains a low priority. Widespread overclaim’ means that many people wrongly believe that they are now doing as much as they can, leading to a sense of ‘saturation’.

Green Deal Providers In Place

Climate Change Minister Greg Barker has signed an agreement with 22 organisations that have pledged to work to become the first Green Deal providers. The organisations that have signed up as pioneer providers include big business, SME's, and community groups, and as Green Deal providers will be offering energy efficiency packages to consumers when the scheme launches later this year.

Renewables Industry Could Support 400,000 Jobs

New research has revealed that the UK’s £12.5 billion renewables industry supports 110,000 jobs across supply chain, and could support 400,000 by 2020.
