Solar-Active (Schools & Homes Energy Education Project) is an independent not-for-profit company and a registered charity. They have received matched funding from Social Enterprise Exchange/South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation to update their website.
The website aims to increase accessibility to downloadable STEM solar resources for teachers, home educators, parents and students/young people. They are currently looking for links to and ideas for practical zero carbon activities to include in their new website.

Bright Green Future is a free, year-long programme, starting in September 2020, for young people aged 14-17 with an interest in the environment and climate change. The programme is run by the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE).
Joining the programme will help young people gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to embark on a career path which could influence decisions on energy and climate change.
As part of the programme, participants will be able to experience running simple low carbon projects in their local community, attend a four-day summer school, receive mentoring from a member of staff at CSE, and work placement or shadowing opportunity at a professional organisation which influences local or national policy.
The deadline to apply for BGF 2020 is 29th June 2020 at 6pm

Although Transition Chesterfield Repair Cafe is closed for the foreseeable future, its volunteers are considering holding a virtual Repair Cafe event. All repairs would have to be pre-booked to allow their time to be managed efficiently.

Do you work young people aged 7-18 years old? Please encourage them to complete the “Care For Our Natural World Youth Survey 2020’ from Transform Our World and get their voices heard. This is an anonymous national online survey of school pupils aged 7-18 to understand how Covid-19 is impacting environmental and social concern in young people.
