The aims of Beeston in Transition:
Working together to create practical, fun, community-based ways to build up our sustainability, reduce our oil dependency and raise awareness of peak oil and climate change in Beeston, Chilwell and surrounding areas.
Past campaigns/activities/work:
We have a well-attended annual Seed Swap for the general public, maintain a small community garden, take part in various local community events, helped the local council promote and give away free trees in 2009, occasionally link up with Nottingham Transition for bigger events
Forthcoming activities/work/campaigns:
Hoping to hold a Swap Shop at local summer carnival, planning to show a thought-provoking film over the summer (2010) and supporting a local Greening Campaign.
