Summary
Pedals is the Nottingham Cycle Campaign. The group encourages the use of bicycles and campaigns to raise the profile of cycling as a solution to climate change, congestion and health problems. A regular newsletter is produced and the group holds monthly meetings and social events.

Full description
We aim to encourage the use of pedal cycles for both daily and recreational use, and to campaign for a higher profile for the role of the bicycle in policy decisions, particularly on planning and transport, and with particular reference to the vital role of cycling in helping to combat climate change and traffic congestion, and in promoting both individual and public health.
We focus on the Greater Nottingham area, i.e. Nottingham City and Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe Boroughs in Nottinghamshire. We also work closely with other cycle campaigners via the East Midlands Cycling Forum, the Cycle Campaigns Network and CTC and Sustrans as well as Ridewise, the Greater Nottingham cyclist training social enterprise.
We also work with other environmental and transport groups such as the Campaign for Better Transport (formerly Transport 2000) and East Midlands Transport Activists’ Roundtable (EMTAR).
We have monthly business meetings on the third Monday of each month, and these often include discussions with a visiting speaker as well as social events. We also produce a newsletter three times a year and contribute to Nottinghamshire County Council’s Rural Rides programme.
