Aims of Rauceby Little Footprint Initiative
 
To develop initiatives to tackle climate change and to design a model sustainable community
 
 Past campaigns/activities/work:
 
  • We have carried out a smart meter trial with 50 Householders.
  • We have held a biodiversity audit in conjunction with local partners.
  • We have worked with the EST’s green communities programme (One of five communities in the east midlands to be chosen).
  • We are currently working with NKDC, EST and Street Energy on a comprehensive insulation programme.
Forthcoming activities/work/campaigns:
 
  • To develop a walled garden project to grow food for the community, and to sell through village farmers market whilst developing a community shop.
  • To advise and encourage the community to seize all varieties of microgen technologies and zero carbon transport.
  • To assist the primary school in the development of climate change/sustainable practises.
  • Also to aid in bringing these into the schools curriculum. To work in all areas of waste reduction.
