Full details
MACAF is a local campaigning body, with a constitution and management committee, which aims to raise awareness about climate change (think global, act local). The Forum has over 30 paid members and about 50 supporters. It serves to bring together all local groups and individuals who are passionate about climate change and the need to act now. The Forum is made up of sub-groups whose focus may be lobbying (Matlock Campaign against climate change), recycling or linked to a specific aim like working on the plastic bag free idea. We stimulate discussion by organising public events with speakers, film, displays and stalls and promote and support other groups in the area. The Committee meets regularly to look at direction and focus but is made up of busy people who lack spare time. However, I feel we have achieved a great deal since being set up in Sept 06 and the planning department at DDDC knows us well!
